May 22 Analogy of the CaveWhat is the Analogy of the Cave? Why it is Philosophy and Western Philosophy at that. Imagine if you will a prisoners in cave. They are there is such a way where there must look out of the cave and all they can see is this wall which have people walking on the otherside with Cut outs of Different animals and such. The prisoners cannot see the people but only the figures the people are holding. And if some of the people were talking and the prisoners only saw the figure, would it be said that the prisoners would come to the conclusion that the figure itself were talking? The light comes from the rear of the cave and shines on the seen. And if a prisoner comes out of the cave into the light? The Generation before you is the ones that have come into the light, They have lived their mistakes and learned from them. Now it is time for the next generation to show the previous respect and learn from them. Mainly I see teenager who become angry and make mistakes, the same mistakes and bad choices their parents made. Yet they continue to close their ears to the wisdom of age. Maybe it is time to listen up. May 12 MusicSo, I have a cracked voice that is entertaining to say the least. I have given two sermons one on guidance and the other on community. my voice is not the best but I just had to spend some time listening to music a little tonight. Want to know what song got the attention of a soldier this evening? Well it is called the "Warrior is a Child" and I found several videos on Youtube. I would have to say that the Favorite Songs that I enjoy are in order:
10. "Its a Great Day to be Alive" Travis
09. Tim Mcgraw "Last Dollar"
08. "American Soldier" Toby
07. "God in America Again" Carman
06. "Amazing Grace"
05. "Place in this World" Michael W Smith
04. "River of Dreams" Billy Joel
03. "Cowboy Logic" Michael Martin Murhy
02. "There is a God" Carman
01. "The Warrior is a Child" Twila Paris
Now these are ones that I really enjoy listening to. I would say that old Rock, Pop, Christian, and Country keep me going. These days it can get a little hard to keep ones head up. We are hit hard with the cost of living and trying to make ends meet. The Gas prices are high along with the cost of Healthcare. Listening to songs keeps my motivation high. I have seen the sand and I see how blessed I am to be in the United States. I hope more people begin to really look hard at the positive in this Country. Until next time, I am out....
February 19 IntoSo there we have it. Microsoft live.com downloaded and a site set up just so I can see how well it works on my Windows machine. But if someone should happen to find this site, man did you make a wrong turn, here is a little about me. I am 43 yo/ male who fixes other peoples computers for a living. Not to thrilling, nothing like transporting equipment and personnel for the Army, oh my bad, I have done that as well. In high school I was know as speedbump and online for a couple of years I was known as "Sergeant". My work performance can speak for itself. As my current evaluation and the performance evalutions of the past show, I take my work seriously. From time to time I may add to this blog and see how well it works. I will list some of my favorite programs and computers here. I will talk about Linux sometimes. Or may just keep notes on my repairs so I can reference them again. Either way, this should be fun. |
